and I didn’t speak up because I wasn’t trans.

Then they came for immigrants

and I didn’t speak up 

because I wasn’t an immigrant

Then they came for elected representatives

and I didn’t speak up 

because I wasn’t an elected representative

Then they came for the disabled

and I didn’t speak up 

because I am not disabled

Then they came for gay people

and I didn’t speak up 

because I’m not gay

Then they came for poor people

and I did not speak up 

because I’m not poor

Then they came for legal gun owners 

and people exercising their constitutional rights 

and I did not speak up

because I fell for the propaganda

Then they came for anyone unwilling to conform

and I thought, I can totally blend

Then they came for me

and by that time 

there was no one left
